Certified on-site lining engineers — superior service, UK-wide coverage.
We take pride in being certified on-site lining engineers, allowing us to provide a superior level of service that covers the entire UK.
Originally designed for commercial settings such as hotels, holiday parks, swim clubs, schools, leisure centres and apartment complexes, our on-site pool liners have become increasingly popular with domestic pool owners across the UK.
Thanks to their superior durability and ease of installation, more residential pool owners are choosing on-site lining to upgrade and renovate their pools — including converting tiled or concrete pools into liner pools.
With our on-site manufacturing process, we create a perfect fit for your pool, ensuring a seamless and leak-free finish.
We’ll assess your pool and recommend the right approach for the long term.
When it comes to pool liners, you have two main options: a pre-tailored bag liner or an onsite liner.
A pre-tailored bag liner is a pre-manufactured product produced in a factory to fit the dimensions of your pool. It arrives at your site as a complete welded “bag” ready for installation by our engineers. Made of 0.75mm thick vinyl material, this liner is specially frequency welded by machine to ensure a leak-free fit.
An onsite liner, also known as a heavy-duty liner, is manufactured on site. Our installation team arrives with rolls of high-quality reinforced vinyl material and creates a custom liner to fit the unique shape of your pool. Using specialist tooling, we carefully cut and hand-weld each piece together to ensure a perfect fit every time. This type of liner is made of 1.5mm-2mm thick vinyl material with an integrated mesh that makes it more durable and longer-lasting than a pre-tailored bag liner. With an onsite liner, you can be confident that your pool will have a seamless and long-lasting finish.
Choosing between a pre-tailored bag liner and an onsite liner can be a challenging decision for pool owners. Both options have their own unique advantages, but one of the most significant differences between the two is the installation and manufacturing process involved.
A pre-tailored bag liner is made in a factory setting, where automated machinery produces liners according to standard sizes and dimensions. This helps to keep costs down, making pre-tailored bag liners more affordable than onsite liners. By producing bag liners more frequently, manufacturers are able to take advantage of economies of scale, and in turn, pass on these savings to customers.
The on-site liner is manufactured directly at the pool site by skilled professionals. This process involves carefully measuring the dimensions of the pool, cutting the liner material to fit precisely, and welding the seams together for a seamless and watertight finish. Although this process is more time-consuming and labor-intensive than the factory production of bag liners, the resulting custom fit and superior quality of on-site liners make them a popular choice for discerning pool owners.
However, it is important to note that the on-site lining process can cost in the region of around 3-4 times as much as a pre-tailored bag liner due to the additional labor and expertise required. This cost difference can be significant for some pool owners, making pre-tailored bag liners a more affordable option.
Overall, the decision between a pre-tailored bag liner and an on-site liner often comes down to budget, personal preference, and the specific needs of the pool owner. While a pre-tailored bag liner may be more cost-effective, an on-site liner offers superior customisation and durability, ensuring a long-lasting and beautiful finish for your pool.
Temperature is a critical consideration when it comes to pool liners. High water temperatures can put significant strain on liners, causing them to break down prematurely or even fail completely.
When comparing pre-tailored bag liners to on-site liners, one of the most significant differences is the maximum operating temperature. According to manufacturers, pre-tailored bag liners have a maximum temperature of 32 degrees Celsius but advise standard temperatures are 28-30 degrees Celsius. This means that if the water temperature exceeds this limit, the liner may become damaged, brittle, and more prone to tears and leaks.
On the other hand, onsite liners can operate at much higher temperatures of up to 35 degrees Celsius without affecting the liner’s performance or longevity. This is due to the thickness and durability of the vinyl material used in onsite liners, as well as the advanced welding techniques used to create a seamless and watertight finish.
One important thing to keep in mind is that the operating temperature of a pool is not only affected by the water temperature but also by other factors such as the weather, direct sunlight, and the presence of a pool cover. Pool water temperatures can rise quickly, which can put additional strain on liners. It is advised that an on-site liner does not exceed 32 degrees.
When comparing the lifespan of a bag liner to an onsite liner, it’s worth noting that both options have different guarantees from the manufacturers. Typically, bag liners come with a guarantee of up to 10 years on seams, joins, and beading, with a limited 5-year reducing guarantee on other elements.
On the other hand, on-site liners come with a 16-year guarantee from the date of installation. Should a defect occur within the first six years of installation, the onsite liner will be repaired or replaced free of charge. If a defect occurs between six and 16 years after installation, the reimbursement value of the guarantee will reduce by 10% each year.
It’s important to note that while the guarantees differ, both bag liners and onsite liners are designed to provide long-lasting protection for your pool.
